FIGMENT 2009 has been an enormous success. Over 13,000 people came out to Governors Island this past weekend to experience something truly unique – a community coming together so that its members could expand their definition of art and their perception of their own  creativity, connect with each other, and demonstrate what the arts in New York can become.

With 400 art projects, a volunteer staff of 200 people, and over 13,000 participants, it is truly a group effort to put together
FIGMENT, and we thank each and every one of you for being a part of it.

The City of Dreams interactive sculpture garden and mini-golf course will be on Governors Island through October 11, and open to the public
on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Please come back to visit, and invite others to play and participate!

We would appreciate being able to use any photos & videos that you took at FIGMENT to be able to promote FIGMENT on our website, in
the press, and for fundraising. In the coming days, we’ll have more info up on our website, but in the meantime, please upload your photos
to Flickr and your videos to YouTube and tag them FIGMENT2009. And please send us an email with zip files or links to your photos & videos at photos@figmentnyc.org. Or, for those of you who are FTP-capable, you can FTP to figmentnyc.org, login as “photos09” and enter the password “clickclick” to upload your images.

Even though the mad rush of FIGMENT 2009 is over, we will need some help throughout the summer to attend to our City of Dreams sculpture garden & mini-golf course, and it’s never too early to recruit the best and brightest to help create FIGMENT 2010.
