The New Island Festival

400 years ago, the Dutch arrived on Governors Island. From September 10-20, THEY’RE BACK, for two weeks of mind-blowing theater, music, and art from The Netherlands. All of the island will be the stage for more than 150 artists who will utilize the waterfront promenade, historic homes, barracks, and open green spaces for site-specific performances. FIGMENT is very pleased to be a co-presenter of the festival. As usual, the island will be free to visit, and some of the performances will be free. Others will require a modest admission fee. If you’re interested in coming out for the day and checking out a number of performances, it’s best to buy a passport. FIGMENT at the New Island Festival

In addition to the site-specific performances of the New Island Festival, FIGMENT will be activating our City of Dreams Sculpture Garden and Mini-Golf Course for both weekends (until 11pm!) with music, light art, projections, and some informal performance.
