There is so much happening on Governors Island over the next two weekends! The New Island Festival kicks off this Thursday, bringing site-specific theatre from the Netherlands to the island, with a 400-foot long table at the center of the action. Then there’s Pioneers of Change, an exhibition of Dutch Design curated by Droog. Plus there’s the Archeological Dig, an exploration of the island’s history. And the Governors Island Art Fair, curated by 4Heads. FIGMENT will be activating the City of Dreams for the festival with music, light art, and performance, with special guests Conscious Cycle 451, the Glass Bead Collective, and many others.

FIGMENT is an explosion of creative energy on Governors Island. It’s a free, annual celebration of participatory art and culture where everything is possible. For one weekend each summer, it transforms Governors Island into a large-scale collaborative artwork… and then it’s gone.
